Date

1903-06

Maker

The United Crafts
The Craftsman Workshops

Dimensions

30 1/2 50 x 27 inches

Notes

The dimensions of LACMA’s settle are essentially the same (30 1/2 x 50 1/8 x 26 7/8 inches) and are a testament to the tolerances and consistency of the work produced in Stickley’s Eastwood factory. This pattern of inlay, which features a marquetry vignette of a landscape with tree, is prevalent on the inlaid examples of Settles (no. 213 and 214). The range of dates given for this form are broader than those typically assigned to the inlaid furniture, because the standard version of this settle was produced until 1906.
