Notes
Little is known about the design and production of Stickley’s inlaid furniture that features a medial stretcher which is flush with the floor. Aside from a few chairs and a table that appeared as drawings in the Craftsman in 1903, two tables photographed for “Structure and Ornament in The Craftsman Workshops,” (January 1904), and a handful of other forms, this does not appear to have been a design detail that lasted very long. The date of these objects has relied upon the appearance of inlaid furniture in The Craftsman in 1903 and 1904. Whether production continued later than that for pieces which were not published in catalogs is unknown.
