Notes
Although Stickley had issued a number of screens by the time of his 1903 Arts and Crafts Exhibition in Syracuse, all of the ones previously illustrated featured a shaped top rail, either on all of the panels or in the central panel. This screen is differentiated by the flat profile for the top rails, as well as for the decorative use of the double rows of tacks that appear at the top and bottom of each section. The treatment of the leather and the tacking pattern is remarkably close to that on the doors to the lecture hall of the Craftsman Building in Syracuse, which were illustrated in the December 1902 issue of The Craftsman.
