Notes
Although this model does not appear to have been included in the known catalogs, Stickley published two images of this model in the first year of the Craftsman. The earlier version of this form has pins through the front stretcher’s tenon, a feature that the second version lacks. The decision to omit the pin for the tenon seems more of a decorative than a functional concern as Stickley continued to pin joints–even on related forms–well after this. This rocker appears to be a version of the “Thornden” rocker without arms. Like the Thornden, it has a single stretcher on the sides and (in the iteration contemporary to the arm rocker) no pegging of the front stretcher’s through tenons.
