Notes
The Craftsman 11 (November 1906) included a shop drawing of a “Cabinet for Pianola Records” that is illustrated above. In terms of scale, it more closely matches the dimensions given than other glass paned cabinets by Stickley. That said, there is no indication—other than the fact that the description mentions “antique leaded glass in doors”—as to what precisely this form looked like.
A number of examples of Music Cabinet (no. 70) have been sold at public auction that feature leaded glass panels in place of the solid panes Stickley illustrated in the catalogs for this form. While the dimensions of these–especially the width–are substantially different than the pianola cabinet, the leaded glass and this drawing suggest these are closely related to one another.
