Stickley redesigned the Child’s Settle (no. 215) in 1910 to better harmonize with the aesthetic shift of Child’s Table (no. 639) that he introduced in the 1910 Craftsman Furniture catalog. The simplified, straight sides and reoriented keyed tenons mirror the new detailing of that table, as does the cutout at the bottom of the sides.
