1909 Factory Inventory designates “old” variant, probably a reference to the shape of the stretchers, which changed when the January 1909 Craftsman Furniture Catalog was published. After 1909, the gentle slope of the lower stretcher edge is replaced by a sharper radius and a finial was added where the stretchers meet.
